Las Ramblas of Barcelona – Tourist Guide
At 30m of the Hotel, Las Ramblas, the renowned promenade of Barcelona, is always full of people going for a stroll. On the 1.2 kilometer stretch you an buy flowers, pets or have your portrait made. It is a must see tourist attraction if you visit Barcelona.

The landmark boulevard dates back from 1766, it was the only space in this city of narrow streets and alleys where people could stroll and pass their leisure time, located next to the medieval city walls. Over time La Rambla or Las Ramblas became a meeting place for all social classes. Over time the old convents disappeared and made way for leisure and cultural attractions.

Now La Rambla is full of florists, news-stands and little pet stores. It also hosts many street artists showing their latest interpretation or impersonation of star-wars, dragons, witches or celebrities. Walking down the Ramblas from Plaza Catalonia, you will find a flee market a bit further down as well as portrait artists.

The promenade is also full of landmark buildings, such as Barcelona’s opera house, the Gran Theatre del Liceu, the Palau de la Virreina and the spectacular Boqueria Market. And at the bottom of La Rambla where the port starts, you will find the Columbus monument.
